After producing ten albums with Gil Scott-Heron, Brian Jackson decided to continue the evolution of his musical talents in the 1980’s by collaborating with Kool and the Gang, Gregroy Porter, Phyllis Hyman, George Benson, Lonnie Liston Smith, Gwen Guthrie and Roy Ayers.

His titles have become classics and his music is taking on a new importance today.

Check out his trademark Fender Rhodes which provides the basics of groove for tracks like “Home Again”  by Kanye (from “Home Is Where the Hatred Is”) and “Poe Mans Dreams” by Kendrick Lamar (from “Peace Go With You , Brother”) and you will understand that his musical vision was decades ahead of his time. Maybe that’s why when you hear him play, it’s like something you’ve heard your whole life.
